A couple of weeks ago, my previous hosting provider decided to take my website (along with a few others) hostage. It’s a long story (thankfully it wasn’t anything I did), but I ultimately decided to transfer my domains and hosting service over to my new friends at SiteGround.com.
Over the past few weeks, I have been working with a local church here in Des Moines to help them develop a new, modern and up-to-date website. They were in a similar but different situation in which they partnered with a ministry related web development company that charged them to make any content changes on their site. Further, they were paying pretty stiff hosting and domain management fees.
While I had never used SiteGround.com before, I read some really good reviews about their service so we decided to partner with them for this church website. I later learned that they are based in Bulgaria, but I’ve really grown to appreciate and respect their support staff who I often visit with via their online chat service. They are very down-to-earth, professional and all have very interesting backgrounds. In short, I really want to visit Bulgaria on vacation sometime in the future.
Because I had such a great experience with SiteGround.com, I decided to transfer my websites over to them and created a new hosting account. They even exported/imported my old website from my provider over to SiteGround.com as part of the registration process…for FREE.
I will be honest with you. I thought about calling it quits with all of the sites that I manage, but my wife encouraged me to stay the course. So after a few hard days of work, I brought LightenUpGear.com back online with a slightly different look and feel.
If any of you have a need for a website, please feel free to contact me to talk about your needs. I’d be happy to provide a cost estimate and potentially work with you to develop a web presence for your brand, business or services.
Cheers,
Erik
